Kevin Hart has mounted legal action against YouTube personality Tasha K.

The actor/comedian has filed a lawsuit against the controversial figure, alleging that she tried to extort him by threatening to release a bombshell interview with his ex-assistant, Miesha Shakes.

According to The Blast, a party – said to be acting on Tasha K’s behalf – contacted Hart’s camp putting forth the intent to “publish a damaging story on social media.”

It’s claimed Hart was informed that the entire fiasco could avoided if he paid $250,000.

Per the suit, the act amounts to a violation of “Penal Code Section 518” and it “gives rise to both criminal and civil liability against you and anyone involved in your efforts to extort Mr. Hart. [Tasha’s] effort to extract payment [and] threatening exposure of information supposedly harmful to him is a textbook example.”

Hart’s legal filing relays that “the Story” at the center of the suit was “an interview with Mr. Hart’s former assistant Miesha Shakes that supposedly includes scandalous assertions against him.”

Beyond spotlighting the non-disclosure agreement Shakes allegedly signed (which presumably any such interview would violate), the suit also points to Tasha K’s widely reported legal troubles with Cardi B – who successfully sued the YouTuber for defamation this year. In that case, a judge found the blogger “liable for civil damages exceeding $3 million.” She has since filed for “bankruptcy protection.”

Hart’s team is demanding that Tasha K “cease and desists all activity and public statements relating to the Story and refrain from any publication or threatened release of the Story.”

Camp Hart also stressed that Tasha K cannot evade “liability for monetary damages to Mr. Hart that you incur as a result of the misconduct described.” 

As of writing, there has been no word yet from Tasha K.
