Tis the season to be jolly – especially for a handful of That Grape Juice favorites that have been given the green light for new seasons.

In what came as no surprise, Forest Whitaker‘s ‘Godfather of Harlem’ – one of top-performing series at MGM+ – has been renewed for season 4.

Co-created by Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein, the gripping drama – which will begin production next year in New York – will unveil the next chapter of the tale of “Bumpy Johnson” (Whitaker) as he continues his quest for control of Harlem against old and rising adversaries including Mafia families and burgeoning gangsters.

As of time of this report no official 2024 premiere date has been announced for its return.

Speaking of New York, Amazon Prime Video’s breakout comedy – ‘Harlem’ – has also been renewed.

The story of four 30-something-year-old best girlfriends trying to navigate the unexpected twists and turns of life, love, and their respective careers in the Big Apple, the hit series stars Meagan Goode, Grace Byers, Shoniqua Shandai, Jerrie Johnson, Tyler Lepley, and more.

“’Harlem’ has continued to tell outrageously hilarious stories through the perspective of these uniquely special characters. Fans can look forward to more laughs, wit, and cultural commentary from the brilliant mind of Tracy Oliver [the show’s writer] and the amazing cast, Meagan, Grace, Jerrie, and Shoniqua,”said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, in an offical press release. “This critically acclaimed series has been embraced by so many and it is a privilege to bring season three to our global Prime Video customers.”

At writing, no official 2024 premiere date has been announced for its season 3 return.

EMMY-winning actress, director, and producer Kerry Washington got a double dose of good news recently when she not only learned the dramedy, ‘Unprisoned,’ had been renewed for a season 2 but her overall deal with ABC signature (the studio behind the show) had been extended.

The hilarious series, which also stars award-winning actor Delroy Lindo, premiered in March as Onyx Collective’s most-viewed opening ever on Hulu.

“Kerry is the gold standard for a what a multihyphenate should be— passionate, prolific and endlessly kind,” said Tracy Underwood, EVP, Creative Affairs, ABC Signature. “We’re so proud of our most recent Onyx Collective/Hulu series UnPrisoned and Reasonable Doubt, as well as our award-winning series Little Fires Everywhere. We look forward to many more years of their unparalleled creativity and talent.”

We’re still awaiting official news on the 2024 premiere date of the next season of ‘Unprisoned.’
