RuPaul may have built a career of boldly breaking down barriers but many may not know the renown entertainment mogul is also quietly leading the charge for representation of people of color at TV’s most prestigious award show.
RuPaul accepted his fifth win overall in the Outstanding Reality Competition Program category for being the executive producer of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ at the Primetime EMMYs on Monday (January 15). The same night the legendary, 63-year-old drag queen also stomped to another victory in the Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Competition Program category.
The triumphs up his career count to 14 – extending his reign as the most-decorated EMMY winner of color in the show’s 75-year history.
