Ava DuVernay adds to her rich tapestry of resonating releases with ‘Origin.’
Inspired by the New York Times Best-Seller ‘Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents,’ the riveting film follows Isabel Wilkerson (played by Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor), as she writes the book. She journeys across Germany, India, and the US to research the caste systems in each country’s history.
Anchored by Ellis, ‘Origin’ also stars Jon Bernthal, Vera Farmiga, Audra McDonald, Niecy Nash-Betts, Nick Offerman, and Blair Underwood.
That Grape Juice’s Maya Ego sat down with the director/writer, who opened up in earnest about shaping the film, her dedication to meaning-led and output, and much more.

Garbage
her Origin is AFRICA!!!!
Ashy flop
I found the movie very interesting and it may me realize that America wanted to create the caste system, but was unable to do so with the discontinue of slavery But they are still trying.
