John Amos‘ death at age 84 has seen an outpouring of emotion.
However, for his daughter Shannon Amos, the situation has been complicated by her claim that she only learned of his death along with the rest of the world.
This, despite the ‘Good Times’ star dying on August 21 – 45 days prior to the public announcement.

Taking to Instagram with a video montage of her final days with her father, Shannon wrote:
“I am without words…Our family has received the heartbreaking news that my Dad, John Allen Amos, Jr., transitioned on August 21st.
We are devastated and left with many questions about how this happened 45 days ago, learning about it through the media like so many of you.
This should be a time of honoring and celebrating his life, yet we are struggling to navigate the wave of emotions and uncertainties surrounding his passing. Still, there is some semblance of peace in knowing my father is finally free.
My family and I deeply appreciate the outpouring of love, calls, and texts. Please continue to hold our family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.”

Shannon made headlines last year when she claimed her father was the “victim of elder abuse” at the hands of her brother, John’s son, K.C. Amos.
Interestingly, a video posted to the screen legend’s Instagram at the time saw him deny the claim and accuse Shannon of…elder abuse.
Still, he would again speak out and with a more hopeful tone. He said:
“Right now, it is somewhat acrimonious, but never mind what you might read or hear about in the paper or on this medium or that medium platform,. Suffice it to say we are still family, and we love each other, and that’s the bottom line.”
Bet they ain’t that close…
That “we are still family” confirms that the son was shady
There were rumors of elder abuse a while back. The son was calling the shots. That’s what happens when you have babies with white women.
SAD. When my beloved mother had taken her final breath I WAS STANDING THERE NEXT TO HER Hospital Bed MY HEART IN PIECES when it had occurred. Though It – my mother’s passing- was expected, I WAS & STILL AM HEARTBROKEN by it.
THAT BEING SAID, THIS SADLY MEANS THAT THIS WOMAN HAD NOT VISITED OR SPOKEN WITH HER FATHER IN NEARLY TWO MONTHS being that THAT IS HOW LONG HER BROTHER CLAIMS THAT MR. AMOS HAD LEFT THIS WORLD.
Who cares about him, he was a flop as a so called actor and a flop as a father 👨🏿
K++ILL YOURSELF.
