The Barry Jenkins movie has topped tallies worldwide, yet was bested by ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ in the US.
However, strong word of mouth and its family appeal magnetized the Stateside masses to the majestic Disney live-action adventure on Christmas Day. The momentum earned the film the #1 spot with $15 million.
