‘Wicked’ stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo continue to shine into the 2025 Award Season.
Aptly, then the ladies have each been tapped to appear on dedicated covers of W Magazine‘s Best Performances Issue.
Both performers are magnetizing ample awards buzz, namely by way of their Golden Globes nominations and hotly tipped nods for the Oscars 2025.
Check out pics and quotes from Grande and Erivo below…
Erivo on First Encountering ‘Wicked’:
“It came into my life as a libretto. I learned the songs even before I’d seen the musical. When I was about 25, I took myself on a solo date for my birthday to the West End in London to see the show. I had a notion in my head about playing Elphaba, but I didn’t know it would be possible to play her in the movie. My initial love was always the theater. It’s what I trained to do. But I knew I wanted to perform in whatever capacity, whether it be TV, screen, or theater.”
Grande on Going by Her Full Name (Ariana Grande-Butera):
“It was a decision that I made because this whole experience truly felt like a homecoming to little Ariana. I wanted to capture it. Also, Grande is my mom’s last name; Butera is my father’s last name. This feels like the most important, full-circle thing I’ve ever done, so I wanted to have them both be a part of this.”
Grande on How She Landed the Role of Glinda:
“I heard little murmurs of, “Oh, they might start auditioning people for the movie sometime soon.” That was actually three or four years before my first audition. I remember asking my team to check in every now and then and say, “Hey, is this happening? Because if it is, she will pull the plug on just about anything and begin training and vocal lessons.” Train my voice to sing the operatic bits, and get into acting lessons to make sure that all my tools are available to me when I need them to transition back over into being an actress, so that I could earn it. Because what was most important to me was that I earned it. I wanted to do the work.”
Grande on How Her Reaction to Landing the Role:
“I have never in my life felt the way I did when I found out that I got the role of Glinda in the film. I thought, Everything’s going to be okay forever now.
I sobbed. And then we got to do the work!”
Erivo on Her Love for the ‘Real Housewives’ Franchise:
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta. I also love Potomac. It’s fantastic. They’re very honest, which I like. Also, there’s no fighting or fisticuffs, but they will read each other crazily. Atlanta definitely gets a little rowdy, though.”

Sorry but her chopstick legs ain’t that long. Isn’t she less than 5 feet?💅🏽
Must be photographic perspective—shooting a subject from below to lengthen legs on mags (or fatten shafts on OnlyFrans). Mariah attached a WHOLE model’s legs to her bust on her 1998 #1’s album cover.
Did Ari get a Kpop head transplant? 😁 Singing lessons, my ash; upper head voice is a walk in the park for any light-lyric soprano. That cow nose ring on Cynthia is getting on my nerves! And I hate Mert, the creepy photographer—no wonder Grande looks nervous. Is the film worth the 3-hour investment, you guys?
JFC- is there ever ego in this picture
Somebody make Ariana a turkey sandwich she is skin x bone
