Cynthia Erivo is magnetizing award buzz for her role in ‘Wicked’ and is set to fly back into action as Elphaba in its sequel later this year.
However, the star is already eyeing her next big role: Storm from the X-Men.

In a new interview with the National Board of Review, the 38-year-old was asked which character she wants to play in the future.
Without hesitation, Erivo replied:
“I really want to play Storm. I know it sounds frivolous, but I think we haven’t uncovered how grand she is, and all of that inner turmoil that she has, so I think there’s a world in which we could, you know, do something like that.”

With X-Men’s next chapter coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it would be riveting to see Erivo’s take on the iconic role.
Time will tell if it comes to fruition.
Before then, the masses can see the multihyphenate star back in action in ‘Wicked: For Good’ when the film hits theaters on November 21.
