The teaser trailer for Mara Brock Akil‘s upcoming series ‘Forever’ just dropped.

The series is an adaptation of the Judy Blume novel. It’s an epic love story of two Black teens exploring romance and their identities through the awkward journey of being each other’s firsts, set in Los Angeles, in 2018.
Lovie Simone plays Keisha Clark a young confident, smart, and fiery track star with clear dreams for life after high school. Michael Cooper Jr. plays Justin Edwards a nerd at heart disguised in an athlete’s body. Justin dreams of playing D1 basketball and achieving more than his successful parents. Also starring in the series are Karen Pittman, Wood Harris, and Marvin Winans III.
There’s no premiere day set yet but it is confirmed to premiere in 2025.
Regina King has notably been tapped to direct the first episode.
