That’s why she’s ready to see the ‘Ready for It‘ diva assume the lead role in the forthcoming remake of ‘The Bodyguard.’

As the guest host of ‘TODAY with Jenna & Friends‘ on Monday (April 14), Banks joined Jenna Bush to talk about a number of entertainment hot topics from Coachella and beyond.
When Bush dished on the recently confirmed remake of 1992’s ‘The Bodyguard,’ Tyra didn’t hesitate to name who she believed could fill Houston’s iconic shoes.
“Taylor Swift,” Banks sang before elaborating on why she picked the 14-time GRAMMY winner. “I think Taylor Swift because of business, commerce, art, and she would frickin sell [movie tickets] like crazy.”
As for Kevin Costner‘s unforgettable performance, Tyra didn’t take much time to think of who among today’s crop of actors would do it justice.
“[Since the original] was Whitney Houston as a Black girl and Kevin Costner as a White man, what if we flipped it and made it Taylor Swift and Idris Elba?” she asked (as seen in the video above).
Time will tell if Tyra’s picks will get the dream roles as Warner Bros. has only announced intent to remake the classic movie but not any other particulars (i.e. stars, tentative release date, etc.).
The model’s call for Taylor to play the lead was inspired in part by the fact Sam Wrench is attached to direct the new ‘Bodyguard.’
His biggest claim to fame is directing Swift’s history-making ‘Eras Tour‘ concert film.
