Moments ago, Lionsgate confirmed that the big screen music film will now hit theaters on April 24, 2026.
The news comes after entities close to production intimated that a delay was all but a given.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, ‘Michael’ was set for a March 2025 release and was then moved to an October 3, 2025 launch.
Tweaks to the script and narrative scope of the film reportedly called for additional shooting. Hence, the holdup.
Led by nephew Jaafar Jackson, the son of Jermaine Jackson, in the titular role, the film promises a raw and unfiltered look at the life of the colossal and often complex King of Pop.
Produced by Oscar winner Graham King, ‘Michael’ boasts a star-studded cast, including Colman Domingo in the role of Joe Jackson and Nia Long as matriarch Katherine Jackson.
