The TV host and rapper recently opened up in an interview on The Breakfast Club, revealing that his massive family wasn’t just by chance, but partly a reaction to his own personal struggles.
“It wasn’t like I was acting out. It was more of being careless, being frivolous with my process because I could do it. Because I had the money. Because I had the access to whoever and however I wanted to move.”
Continuing, he added:
“For whatever reason, I thought that was the answer a lot of times, like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna figure it out over here.’ Now, you’re leaving trauma every step of the way instead of fixing it from its origin.”

The Wild ’N Out creator has been under constant scrutiny for his growing family tree. He often juggles co-parenting dynamics with multiple mothers of his children. While he’s long defended his ability to be present for all of them, this is the first time Cannon has publicly admitted there’s a deeper emotional layer to his choices.
