Speaking at Bloomberg Screentime on Wednesday (October 8), the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ host said he’d love to have the president appear as a guest, despite their long-running feud. He said:
“I’d love to have Trump on the show, for sure.”
However, Trump’s team didn’t seem flattered. White House rep Abigail Jackson quipped that responding would require watching Kimmel’s show, she joked to Page Six:
“Reacting to anything Jimmy Kimmel says would require me to watch his show and I have much more entertaining things to do, like watch paint dry.”
The pair’s rivalry reignited recently after Trump celebrated Kimmel’s brief suspension from ABC, saying:
“Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible.”
Still, Kimmel defended his political commentary, saying his role is to discuss “the big stories of the day.”
Whether Trump takes him up on the offer remains to be seen.
