The powerhouse pair lit up the room with a lush rendition of ‘Happy Days Are Here Again/Get Happy,’ so electric they reportedly asked to run it back just for fun, and the crowd happily obliged.
Fans got even closer to the action as the duo guided the audience through playful teases of new music. Grande and Erivo joked about the non-reveals of new songs and clips from the film, saying:
“We’re sorry, you won’t actually hear them tonight! Isn’t that evil? We said that! That was not our fault. We want to give you everything — we love you!”
Their chemistry continued backstage, where spontaneous sing-alongs and surprise stage pop-ups from Grande kept spirits soaring. With these stellar performances, ‘Wicked: For Good’ (due November 21) couldn’t come quickly enough.
