Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is definitely booked and busy in 2026. And a team-up with Netflix for a new show, ‘Man on Fire’ is the latest in a lengthy list of projects on his packed slate.

The series follows John Creasy, who was a once-elite Special Forces mercenary who’s still highly capable but is deeply scarred. He’s living alone, with intense PTSD, while trying to outrun his past.

Viewers will find him trying to get some semblance of peace and redemption. However, outside threats and inner demons threaten to drag him back into the violent world he was a part of.

The drama is inspired by two of A.J. Quinnell’s ‘Man on Fire’ novels: ‘Man on Fire’ and ‘The Perfect Kill’.

This new adaptation will delve more into John Creasy as compared to the 2004 film starring Denzel Washington.

The ensemble cast will include Bobby Cannavale, Billie Boullet, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy, and Paul Ben-Victor.

This news follows Abdul-Matten starring in ‘Wonder Man’, which debuts later this month.

Netflix hasn’t set a release date yet for ‘Man on Fire’, but it’s expected to drop sometime this year.
