According to TMZ, Kimora has filed to change her name from Kimora Lee Simmons-Leissner to simply Kimora Lee.
In the paperwork, she reportedly states the reason is for “consolidation of records and names used in different documents.”
Now, with her reality TV revival underway and a fresh spill of rebranding surrounding the mogul, the move is intentional.
While her former husband, Russell Simmons, who she divorced in 2009, has found himself back in headlines in recent years over various legal controversies, Kimora appears focused on tightening up her empire and separating her brand from outside noise.

As CEO of Baby Phat, the label she built, she’s also an investor in energy drink giant Celsius, expanding her footprint well beyond fashion with a reported $200 million net worth.
