Whitney Houston‘s star is one that shone like no other and continues to radiate a decade after her untimely passing.

Fittingly, then, her story is set for the big-screen-biopic treatment by way of ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody.’

Set to hit theaters worldwide next month, the movie sets out to serve as the most seismic and definitive take on the diva’s story.

Directed by Kasi Lemons, ‘I Wanna Dance’ is penned and produced by Anthony McCarten – who helmed Oscar winner ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ (the blockbuster biopic about Queen). It notably serves as the only film production on Houston’s life to be released in partnership with the songbird’s Estate and longtime collaborator Clive Davis onboard. A move that will see the flick feature original recordings of the icon’s music too.

With buzz aplenty surrounding the project, Sony Pictures has unwrapped an extended trailer  – showcasing lead Naomi Ackie as Houston and the lifelong span the ‘I Wanna Dance’ will dive into.
