After thrilling audiences in 2020 with its inaugural season led by Xosha Roquemore and Alano Miller, Ava Duvernay‘s anthological romantic drama is finally back to kick off its sophomore run.

Set for premiere October 4 on OWN, this season is led by Joy Bryant and Henry Simmons but also stars familiar faces Richard Roundtree and Terri J. Vaughn.

According to the official plot description, season 2 will see “the rekindling of a romance told — the love story of Ellis Moran (Henry Simmons) and Sunday St. James (Joy Bryant), who fell in love in high school but find themselves reunited in beautiful New Orleans. Ellis is a former basketball player who is now a single father of two, and Sunday is a vegetarian celebrity chef on the cusp of fame.”

With Halloween fast approaching, Netflix brings the fright and the funny with new movie ‘The Curse of Bridge Hollow.’

Anchored by Marlon Wayans and co-starring Kelly Rowland, the film follows the story of a father (Wayans) and his teenage daughter (played by Priah Ferguson).

An array of unforeseen events (which bring the term “close to home” a whole new meaning) see them forced to team up and save their town after an ancient and meddling spirit causes chaos.

Jeff Wadlow takes the directorial helm of the movie, which also stars Rob Riggle, John Michael Higgins, Nia Vardalos, Lauren Lapkus, Holly J. Barrett, Myles Vincent Perez, Abi Monterey, and Helen Slayton-Hughes.

Class is in session this Fall on Netflix.

For, the masses will be welcomed to ‘The School for Good and Evil’ on October 19.

The eagerly anticipated film centers on oddball best friends Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie), who find themselves on opposite sides of a ferocious battle when they are swept away into an enchanted school where aspiring heroes and villains are trained to protect the balance between Good and Evil.

Boasting an all-star assembly of names such as Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron, Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, and Patti LuPone, the Paul Feig-directed movie is based on Soman Chainani’s like-titled book, ‘The School for Good and Evil.’

As part of the classic 80’s sitcom ‘227,’ actress Jackee Harry gave life to one of TV’s most memorable supporting characters – the sassy “Sandra Clark.”

Noted for her fashion-forward ensembles, quick quips, and unmistakable voice, portrayal of “Clark” would eventually lead Harry into EMMY history books when she became the first Black woman to win the “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy” trophy in 1987.

Holding on as the sole Black female winner in the category for nearly 40 years, that status changed Monday (September 12) when she was finally joined by another veteran screen star:  Sheryl Lee Ralph.

And his latest venture fuses several.

Christened ‘Entergalactic,’ the television event premieres on Netflix on September 30 and encompasses a compelling story and new music.

Created by Cudi and Kenya Barris, the Fletcher Moules-directed special is an original, immersive, animated story centered on a young artist named Jabari — voiced by Cudi— as he navigates both love and success.

The two paths uniquely lead to each other, when Jabari moves into a new building and encounters his new neighbor, photographer Meadow — (voiced by Jessica Williams). From there a narrative of music, fashion, art, and more plays out – with New York serving as the creative backdrop.

‘Entergalactic’ boasts an all-star cast that also includes Ty Dolla $ign, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Harrier, Vanessa Hudgens, Christopher Abbott, 070 Shake, Jaden Smith, Keith David, Teyana Taylor, Arturo Castro, and Macaulay Culkin.

Uniquely, it’s powered by music that can be found on Cudi’s like-titled new album – which also arrives on September 30.
