When not blazing stages, Jennifer Lopez is making her mark on the big screen.

This month brings with it the premiere of her newest movie ‘Second Act.’

However, in an interview to promote the film, the diva revealed that she was almost attached to one of the biggest releases of the year, ‘A Star Is Born’ – which ended up being headlined by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. 

Perhaps even more intriguing, she confirmed that Will Smith was set to appear as the male lead.

Golden Globe nominee Mary J. Blige continues flex her acting gravitas. And this time it’s in Netflix‘s new series ‘The Umbrella Academy.’

Based on a comic book series of the same name, written by Gerard Way, the series follows estranged members of a misfit family of superheroes (‘The Umbrella Academy’).

Trying to put aside their differences, Luther, Diego, Allison, Vanya, Klaus and Number Five strive to solve their father’s mysterious death – but their own disfunction serves as one of their biggest hurdles.

Blige’s character of Cha Cha is said to be an “unorthodox hit-woman who travels through time to kill assigned targets.” Also described as ‘sadistic and sociopathic,’ Cha Cha has a love for torture and deems herself a ‘pain artist.’ The role comes on the heels of widely praised showing in Netflix film ‘Mudbound.’
