By retaining control of a leading Billboard R&B chart this week, Tank has rolled right into the Music Bible’s history books.
‘Control’ became Tank’s 11th career chart-topper on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart when it ascended to the hitlist’s summit last week.
Maintaining the positioning this week, ‘Control’ – which boasts an interpolative nod to Janet Jackson‘s smash 1986 hit of the same name – penciled him beside the legendary Charlie Wilson for most leaders among male acts in the chart’s history.
Among all acts, only Alicia Keys (14) has more.
Check out all Tank’s chart-toppers on the Adult R&B Airplay chart below.
- “Please Don’t Go,”
- “Next Breath,”
- “When We,”

For context, the Adult R&B Airplay chart – also known as the Adult R&B Songs chart – measures the airplay of songs spun on radio stations that mostly play songs of the contemporary R&B, traditional R&B, and Urban Adult contemporary genres.

Love me some Tank! Go, Boo!
Didn’t he say he was retiring? Lol I cant…
Majority of people have never heard most of these songs and they never made it to any other chart especially not the hot 100.
His songs typically sound like different versions of each other, this one included. I prefer him as part of TGT.
He has range, demonstrated in his writings for others. But he understands his shallow audience. When he does other things, it does not do as well unfortunately. Women want s** from Tank so that’s what he gives them.
