In 1998 Oprah Winfrey led the film adaptation of Toni Morrison‘s horror ‘Beloved’.
In it, with support from Kimberly Elise and Thandie Newton, Winfrey told the tale of an enslaved African woman who- after escaping the horrific plantation she was enslaved in- murders her baby to stop the child from being enslaved when she is close to being captured.
This year, Winfrey and Newton reunited for ‘Actors on Actors’ to discuss the craft of acting, their history and their respective careers.

In the troubled years following the Civil War, the spirit of a murdered child haunts the Ohio home of a former slave. This angry, destructive ghost breaks mirrors, leaves its fingerprints in cake icing, and generally makes life difficult for Sethe and her family; nevertheless, the woman finds the haunting oddly comforting for the spirit is that of her own dead baby, never named, thought of only as Beloved.
As the breakout star of Oxygen’s ‘Bad Girls Club‘ empire Natalie Nunn‘s hilarious, witty and endearing personality sees her stand as one of reality television’s more sought-after stars.
Now it seems that ‘Love & Hip Hop’ maitre’ d’ Mona Scott-Young hopes to welcome Nunn to the fray by placing her in its Hollywood edition.
Alas, she’s been rejected.
Why?
Natalie explains it all below…
News of Natalie’s meeting comes after fans of ‘Love’s ‘Atlanta’ offering learned that its leading lady Joseline Hernandez had left the show following a long-running feud with Mona who used to manage Missy Elliott.
Quite interestingly, a YouTube channel housing key moments from ‘Love and Hip Hop’ lore began to post clips unveiling Mona’s supposedly problematic history with the show’s cast.

Wendy Williams’ permeation of Pop culture often goes unnoticed by those who only met her via her widely successful talkshow.
For those who are familiar with her journey, her story is the stuff of Lifetime biopics are made of, filled to the brim with scandal, near-death experiences, heartbreak and alleged murder attempts.
With this in mind, Williams and her husband Kevin Hunter set out to tell said story by way of a biopic starring Robin Givens.

Joseline Hernandez has never been one to hide her feelings, as such it was only a matter of time before her beef with ‘Love & Hip-Hop’ creator Mona Scott Young became public knowledge.
It’s anyone’s guess what specifically led to the fall-out, but the outspoken reality took to Instagram in the midnight hour to announce that she had quit the Atlanta branch of the controversial VH1 franchise:

The move comes after Hernandez spent several days goading Young online and pushing for a sit-down with Oprah (yes, you read right) to settle their (financial?) differences:

Yikes.
‘Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta’ has – and continues to be – built on the foundation of the Joseline/Stevie/Mimi dynamic. So, it does beg the question of what will happen moving forward.
Word on the curb is that a lot of the cast have refused to tape with Jos this season (after multiple fall-outs), something viewers have both noticed and complained about.
Should she indeed be “done,” where does it leave the show more broadly? Are the remaining cast strong enough to command high viewership?
What’s more, is Joseline’s established enough to go it alone? She has proven popular guest-hosting on ‘The Real,’ but public meltdowns such as this are hardly likely to make her an enticing prospect to networks that are traditionally more conservative.
Digital missiles aimed at the fashion house Gucci have forced them to thank the African-American designer Dapper Dan for inspiring one of their latest “creations”.
Slammed after introducing the image on the left as part of their ‘Gucci Cruise’ collection, the company were accused of stealing the artists work to do so when members of the digital community pointed out that it was identical to his work (which appears on the right).
It may have earned a raised eyebrow or two from fans and family upon its announcement, but if ratings are anything to judge by, it appears a number of those claiming to be opposed to Lifetime’s unauthorized biographical film of King of Pop Michael Jackson still found time to tune in.
The made-for-TV-movie, titled ‘Searching for Neverland,’ aired on Memorial Day (May 29th) and was the highest rated scripted programming for its timeslot. In fact, for its timeslot, it came in second overall – blocked from the top spot by WWE Entertainment.

Jennifer Lopez continues to prove a winning force for NBC.

The figure makes the show the highest rated premiere for a summer alternative series in five years and the most watched in nine.
Lopez, who executive produces the show, also stars on it as a judge alongside Ne-Yo and Derek Hough.
The 47-year-old presently anchors ‘Shades Of Blue’ for NBC too.
Slaying all round.
