Despite steep competition, a slew of historic nominations, and a snafu that saw acting legend Warren Beatty announce the wrong name for ‘Best Picture,’ the 89th annual Academy Awards are making history for another reason: poor ratings.
In fact, the viewership for Sunday’s showing was so low, it comes as the lowest of the decade. Details inside:
‘Braxton Family Values’ is back for the continuation of its 5th season.
And the ladies of the soulful ensemble are bringing the drama.
Set to hit WE tv on March 16th, viewers will find Tamar plagued by rumors of marital issues with husband Vince (while ironically considering another baby).
Toni is loved up with Birdman and is finally ok with the world knowing; Towanda files for divorce from Andre and the aftermath turns all sorts of ugly.
Elsewhere, Trina is continuing to grow her business – with bumps and blows along the way. Literally. While Traci becomes a spokeswoman for a new line of vodka, is continuing to work on a solo album, and attempts to resolve past issues with sister Tamar.

As Viola Davis & Mahershala Ali‘s films, ‘Fences’ and ‘Moonlight’ respectively, were two of the year’s most Academy Award-nominated movies, fans of both took a deep sigh of relief when the works were honored by the voting committee for their groundbreaking performances.
The wins not only come for triumphs for people of color, many of whom have lashed out at the academy for reportedly limiting the types of roles African Americans are generally nominated for, but also for Davis & Ali who see their names penciled in history books as a result.
Curious to know why or how? The answer inside:
This is the moment ‘Moonlight’ maker Barry Jenkins discovered that his movie had earned the ‘Best Picture’ award at last night’s Oscars.
Why the shock?
The announcement of the movie’s win came after the cast and crew of the movie ‘La La Land’ made their way to the stage to collect the same award?
