Just two weeks after Nia Long reportedly moved to Boston to be with longtime boyfriend Ime Udoka, former head coach of the Boston Celtics, reports surfaced he was having an affair with a Celtics staffer.

Believed to have broken an ethics clause in the process, the affair led to a full-year suspension from the team.  At this time, it’s uncertain what his future will the franchise will look like at the suspension’s end.

The multi-talented Tyler Perry returns to Netflix for another original movie titled ‘A Jazzman’s Blues,’ written, directed, and produced by the Academy Award honoree.

A tale of forbidden love, ‘A Jazzman’ stars Joshua Boone and Solea Pfeiffer who play magnetized lovers Bayou Boyd and Leanne Jean Harper. Forty years of secrets and lies come to light to the tune of juke joint blues in this movie, set in the deep South.

That Grape Juice‘s Chet Kincaid spoke with Perry, Boone and Pfeiffer about the inspiration behind the screenplay (which was 27-years in the making), the experience of shooting the movie, and more.

‘Battlefield’ beauty Jordin Sparks is battling to be crowned victor of season 31 of ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ which premiered on Disney+ Monday (September 19).

Hitting the floor to perform a cha-cha via her debut dance on the Tyra Banks and Alfonso Ribeiro-hosted program, Sparks strutted her stuff alongside pro partner, Brandon Armstrong, to one of late icon Whitney Houston‘s greatest hits: ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me).’

Dreamgirls unite!

As EGOT-winning superstar Jennifer Hudson continues to enjoy a critically acclaimed run on daytime TV with her new talk show, ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show,’ she’s making headlines for creating magical moments with some of Hollywood’s biggest names.

Fresh from her historic EMMY win at the 2022 ceremony, TV and stage icon Sheryl Lee Ralph stopped by Hudson’s show Tuesday (September 20) to to not only discuss the award show triumph but also season 2 of ABC’s hit series ‘Abbott Elementary,’ her legendary career, and so much more.

The singer-actresses couldn’t conclude their chat without paying homage to ‘Dreamgirls,’ however, because it was ultimately the vehicle that put them both on the map as Ralph portrayed the original “Deena” in its 1981, TONY-winning stageplay edition while Hudson nabbed Oscar gold for her performance as “Effie” in the 2006 movie version.

When the ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ season 7 trailer was unveiled, one of the most buzzed-about scenes came at its climax when Wendy Osefo was shown soaked in a drink tossed at her by castmate Mia Thornton. 

And while folk will have to wait until next month when the hit series returns to see the events that led up to the drenching, Osefo is opening all the way up about that drama and the season at large.

‘The Woman King’ is making mighty strides at the US box office but that hasn’t halted the hustle of Viola Davis. 

Indeed, the Oscar, Emmy, and Tony Award winner stopped by The Breakfast Club today with co-star Thuso Mbedu and director Gina Prince-Bythewood to discuss the film and the process of bringing it to the big screen.

Based on a true story, ‘The Woman King’ centers on the narrative of General Nanisca (Davis) as she rears the next generation of recruits and readies them for war against an adversary hellbent on upheaving their lives.

And while it looks poised to premiere at #1 and has earned an A+ CinemaScore, Davis makes it clear that it was no easy feat getting the movie to the masses.
Speaking candidly, she detailed the various hurdles and stressed why it’s so important for audiences (especially Black audiences) to support the film (and films like it).
