…the Fox broadcast of the Patriots vs. Atlanta Falcons gridiron NFL battle at NRG Stadium in Houston on Sunday is one of the top four most watched TV shows in American history – tied with the 2012 Super Bowl. About 111.3 million tuned in to Fox for the 6:45 – 10:30 PM ET Super Bowl last night, according to Nielsen.
When viewership on Fox Deportes and Fox Sports GO are added in, the total rises to 113.7 million – the second best multi-platform Super Bowl result in this multi-platform era.

It wasn’t anything groundbreaking. I wonder why the camera cut away as she “dropped” off the roof onto the stage? If it was real, they would’ve shown the full effect. Overall, it was just another average Gaga performance aside from the part where she tried to emulate P!nk’s Cirque du Soleil act.

Although as the unbiased music fan that I am, I know damn well these ratings don´t depend on the group that is performing that night (same way the success of an animated movie doesn´t depend on which singer lent their voice to a particular character no matter how stans want to state it does). It has more to do with the game itself. Overall, they have all achieved pretty much the same ratings these last 5 years. Kudos to all of them. Performing that long segment is exhausting, especially if you sing live and dance LOL
first of all: only a handful of those acts were able to increase on the game’s viewership, gaga was one of those madonna, mj and katy perry did it too…bey for example had 2million dropped from the game’s viewership, so to some degree those acts do bring in their own viewers to offset those sports fans not there for the halftime show.
second of all: when you give your time to promote a movie, you deserve some of the credit especially when that movie over-performs and becomes a hit and becomes the single reason a whole animation movie studio can look forward to a future.
