Having already soared into the top 20 of the U.S. Afrobeats and R&B charts (#4 and #12 peaks respectively), it’s safe to say Tyla‘s latest single ‘Push 2 Start‘ is off to a great start.

Her bid to drive the Sammy Soso-produced bop onto the Hot 100, however, has come courtesy of a number of promotional efforts including award show performances and dropping its sizzling official video.

After turning heads with the latter, Tyla is now inviting her beloved fans (affectionately called #Tygers) in for a peek at how all the Aerin Moreno-directed magic came to be.

Universal Music Group has wasted no time responding to Drake‘s legal filing regarding Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘Not Like Us.’

As reported, the Canadian MC filed what amounts to a pre-litigation submission, accusing both UMG and Spotify of launching a “scheme” to inflate Lamar’s song – a diss track aimed at him – via various methods.

The shocking move left jaws ajar as Drake has been signed to UMG for the length of his spell in the spotlight.

Now, UMG has blasted the filing as “contrived and absurd.”

Teedra Moses toasted the 20th anniversary of ‘Complex Simplicity’ on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series.

Released on August 10, 2004, the project was greeted with critical acclaim and is widely considered a cornerstone of R&B excellence.

Kendrick Lamar may be on track to debut at #1 on the Hot 100 with ‘squabble up,’ but he isn’t resting on his laurels.

For, the Hip-Hop heavyweight has surprise released the music video for the catchy cut – which is taking all the way off on TikTok.

It’s still award season and the Billboard Music Awards 2024 is up next.

Taking place on December  12, the event will honor some of the most commercially impactful releases over the last year.

Today (November 25) has seen the much-anticipated nominations unveiled. And it brings with it good news for the likes of Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Beyonce, and Morgan Wallen.

Bryan leads with 18 nods, while Swift follows with 16, Wallen with 11, and Carpenter with 9.

Elsewhere, Beyonce leads cross-genre nominations – with 2 of her 3 categories including Top Country Female Artist and Top Country Album. Dolly Parton is up for Top Rock Album, and Post Malone with 2 of his 8 categories including Top Country Artist and Top Country Song.
