New track list alert!

This one comes courtesy of Drake who has been kind enough to lift the lid on the names of the tracks set to appear on his new double disc album ‘Scorpion.’

Why some fans believe one of the tracks is “dedicated” to the gossip blogger Sandra Rose?

As fans continue to grapple with the tragic murder of XXXTENTACION, the rapper’s legacy is being elongated with the formal release of new single ‘SAD!’

Rocketing to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the days following the 20-year-old’s demise, the song may extend its reign atop of the Pop pack thanks to the debut of its video.

Poetically eery, the clip (which XXX wrote the treatment for), sees him fighting and mourning his “old” self in a bid to change.

If Camila Cabello haters thought the massive success of ‘Havana’ was a fluke, they’ll be disappointed to know her slayage has continued well beyond the 5x platinum Pharrell Williams-penned cut.

Its follow-up, ‘Never Be the Same,’ may have seen its fortune stalled due to its predecessor’s enduring domination over the Hot 100, but it – like ‘Havana’ – eventually made its way to the tally’s top 10.  Now, thanks to a handsome mix of sales and streaming, the tune’s been handed a new certification honor.

Unlike the gems from their most recent respective releases, ‘Lemonade’ and ‘4:44,’ the fans of Beyonce and Jay Z may have not exactly gone apesh*t over the album cuts from their first joint effort, ‘Everything is Love,’ but they sure do have their eyes and ears on the set’s lead single ‘Apesh*t.’

Not only coming as the week’s highest debut of any artist, the tune also ranks as the highest charting song from the ‘Everything is Love’ album (to date).  The rest of its content debuted in the lower third of the Hot 100, with four of them even taking to the Bubbling Under Charts – “713” (#3), “Heard About Us” (#10), “Black Effect” (#20) and “Lovehappy” (#21).

While theories on piracy, the ineffectiveness of streaming exclusivity, and even ‘surprise album fatigue’ puzzle fans on the uncharacteristic commercial response to the project, one release that certainly isn’t experiencing any of this is the late XXXTentacion’s ‘Sad!’  While it’s certainly characteristic of the sales and streams of an artist to dramatically increase following news of his or her death, the response to the rapper’s passing has blown that out of the water.

Having already broken Taylor Swift’s major 1-day streaming record (click here to read more), the John Cunningham-produced hit has now jumped from #52 to #1 on the Hot 100:

After churning out colossal hits such as ‘Waterfalls’ and ‘No Scrubs,’ TLC brought their recording to career to an end last year with the release of their self-titled “last” studio album.

The subject of much debate (after being funded by fans), the set didn’t yield the sales hoped and disappeared almost as quickly as it arrived.

Still, with a legacy as profound as TLC’s, the reality is that there’ll always be an audience keen to see them in action. A fact band-member T-Boz is looking to capitalize on…in Las Vegas.

Acts as iconic as Prince are once in a lifetime, hence it’s little surprise that the legend’s music is proving a hot commodity two years after his sudden death.

As the posthumous success of Michael Jackson has proven, catalogue material is big business; in many cases, a billion dollar business.

Prince’s Estate have clearly clocked this and have struck a lucrative new deal with Sony Music – who’ve now snagged the distribution rights to a whopping 35 albums.
