Despite never being formally elected by his people, Josè Eduardo Dos has stood as the President of Angola for the last 34 years- accused of murdering and manipulating to his power and exercising more of the same tactics to keep himself there.

However, despite numerous attempts made by many Angolans to raise awareness for the crimes they say he is guilty of, last Sunday saw their efforts to shine a light on his cruelty thwarted when he received a glowing endorsement from  world renown Pop icon Mariah Carey.

Indeed, while the world continues to show a collective appreciation for the latest effort from Beyonce (by way of sales of her self-titled album) – the reigning Queen of Pop Madonna comes as the latest to extend her approval of the ‘Single Ladies’ diva.

Madonna and child (Mercy) were in the house at BK’s Barclays Center tonight to witness yet another show-stopping showing from the Queen B as she continues her blockbuster ‘Mrs. Carter World Tour’.

After yielding year-end tallies based on chart stats and critic picks, our friends over at Billboard have turned the polls over to fans in quest to find out who the people thought was the ‘album of the year’.

To the surprise of many, the appointed – pop superstar Lady Gaga – did not see her name on the music Bible’s chart or critics’ picks – yet she topped every major category of the reader’s poll.

Taking honors in ‘Favorite Album’, ‘Favorite Music Video’, and ‘MVP’ of the year, see what other names were dominated by the diva in the tally and tell us if you agree:

‘Love The Way You Lie’ duo Eminem and Rihanna made their way to the top of charts again with their most recent collaboration ‘The Monster’.  Lifted from Em’s platinum-selling album ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’, the tune roared onto the Billboard Hot 100 over a month ago and has not seen one week outside of the top 10.

The release of the tune’s accompanying video this week will ensure it stays put for quite sometime…or so we think. Before the duo gets too comfortable, there are a set of other collaborations that threaten to unseat it – Pitbull & Ke$ha‘s ‘Timber’ and A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera‘s ‘Say Something’.

Both of the aforementioned numbers have clocked impressive numbers in the past week, which landed them top 5 placement (#2 and #5 respectively).  But, is their rise something for Em & Ri to worry about?

Beating out fan favorites Jeff Gutt and Carlito Olivero, the couple, under the mentorship of Simon Cowell, lent memorable performances of hits like Destiny’s Child‘s ‘Say My Name’ and many more.

Fans will see their debut offerings hit shelves mid-2014.
