Currently perched at #1 on iTunes USA, 16 year old Pop newbie Lorde is fast becoming one her genre’s more celebrated (and respected) contributors, scoring big on all fronts with her brand new single ‘Royals’.
Now, days before the September 27th release of her debut album ‘Pure Heroine’, the performer has shared her thoughts on ‘Teenage Wasteland’ belle Lana Del Rey, billing her music ‘unhealthy’.

Much like its ‘Freshly Squeezed’sister segment, this revived assay aims to put the magnifying glass on talents who may not appeal to the buying public on a broad scale yet are still serving material that could easily spin side-by-side with some of today’s top hits.
Covering a kaleidoscope of genres, ‘The Spill’ is set to feature some names you probably know and love as well as some you’ll (soon) be glad to know. Click below to find out the spill on crooners Omarion, Luke James, The Weeknd, and much more…
Birthday boy Jason Derulo gifted iHeartradio Music Festival attendees with a dazzling set tonight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena-hosted event.
Looking to give fans yet another reason to pick up his forthcoming album ‘Tattoos’, which hits shelves on September 23, the week leading to tonight’s showing saw Derulo make headlines for the album’s Jordin Sparks-featured tune ‘Vertigo’.
This, just days after the pophitmaker took to Twitter to share some of the album’s glossy promo snaps and news of the release date of the visual for the album’s third single ‘Marry Me’.
‘Fine China’ crooner Chris Brown brought the MGM Grand Garden Arena to its feet with his high octane set on the opening night of the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

By all accounts, Jennifer Hudson’s third studio album is shaping up to be quite the masterpiece.
Enlisting the likes of Red One and Salaam Remi to help craft it, we had hoped the project would see her birth a Jill Scott meets Paloma Faith esque piece that would see her strike Adult Contemporary ground, winning over an older (and far more loyal) audience while doing so.
However, it appears the release will see the Oscar nabbing Grammy winner strike a healthy balance between Dance and Soul. Well, that is if her brand new effort ‘I Can’t Describe The Way I Feel’ is anything to go by.

“Wrecking Ball” beauty Miley Cyrus has had quite the headline-grabbing week.
From suffering a highly publicized breakup to boyfriend/actor Liam Hemsworth to being slammed by pop stars for her tongue-wagging twerk-tastic VMA performance (nearly a month after it happened), it”s pretty safe to say Miley the topic of the week.
As Cher, Robin Thicke, Paula Patton, P!nk, Britney Spears took different sides of the fence regarding the issue, her country hitmaking father Billy Ray and CNN”s “Piers Morgan Tonight” to defend his daughter”s twerking antics.
Hear his thoughts on her “growing artistry” below and see what else has kept her in headlines:
Housing two of R&B’s most celebratedsongbirds and ‘King of Sorrows‘ belle Sade, Epic Records now enlists the aid of former Def Jam staple Shalik Berry- handing him a role set to see him steer the label to a bigger and brighter Urban future.
Great music may be the bread and the butter of their careers, but this week sees Beyonce & Jay Z celebrated not for the dedication to their crafts…but the cash that craft brings in.
This week’s That Grape Juice Cover Star is singer/songwriter Derran Day. Watch as the Youtube crooner hits a homerun on Drake‘s latest top 10 hit ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’:
Is it us or does he sound like Craig David in parts?
Anywho, as much as we go for the “big voice” divas here at TGJ, we often tip our hats to simplicity. Granted, we know ‘Home’ isn’t exactly the most challenging song to sing, so we’re sure that even Cassie the least experienced singers could handle it.
But, that doesn’t take away from Derran’s performance. Clear, simple, and devoid of embellishment, Derran managed to capture the song’s emotion while still injecting a bit of himself in the tune. Such ability is certainly what separates “covers” from “bad karaoke”. To that, we say bravo Mr. Day!
