Peep Ashanti!

The singer looks all sorts of smoking in this hot new promo shot for her forthcoming album.

Currently untitled, the set is preceded by ‘The Woman You Love’ – which we can only assume is now a “buzz” track given the lack of follow-through (see: video, radio promo).

An issue I hope doesn’t plague the record; as I’ve long believed the “independent route” would always a tricky one for an artist such as Ms. Douglas. Yes, going it alone means she cuts the major label overheads and pockets more of the cha-ching. Yet, when you’re an artist who once had it all, is more $$$ worth the lack of recognition and low chartings the solo route is ridden with. Especially when, on the merit of your name alone, you’re still competing with the Beyonce‘s and Rihanna‘s of the world.

Put simply, here’s hoping the rest of the project follows a structured, clear-cut path; one that yields the results she deserves. For, she’s made the necessary strides vocally and as a performer to render herself worthy of success.

Your thoughts?

Madonna may be a Pop icon, but when it comes to making or starring in movies, she really is a lost cause.

From ‘Four Rooms’  to ‘Swept Away‘, Ms. ‘Material Girl‘ – in many ways- is to film what Edward Scissorhands is to cosmetology.

A nightmarish wreck.

So, in what will be sure to have much of her fan base seething with rage, today saw her creative cause face yet another blow.

Her latest movie ,’WE‘ has bombed.
