Soulful crooner Luke James stopped by BET’s 106 & Park this week to promote his hot new mixtape ‘Whispers In The Dark’ and video ‘Make Love To Me’.

The free eight song set has been drumming up buzz aplenty since hitting the ‘net on Tuesday, a fact which will no doubt give the New Orleans even more to smile about since scoring his first Grammy nomination.

This week’s That Grape Juice ‘Cover Star‘ comes from soulful Youtube fashionista Shekia Renea. Watch as the US native takes on the task of Tamar Braxton‘s soaring new single ‘Love & War’ below (begins @ :15):

Sweet!  The multi-talented Renea certainly put her stamp on the Braxton number.  Showcasing a supple alto (more vocally reminiscent of Tamar’s eldest sibling Toni), Renea was able to capture the emotion of the song while still able to inject her own style into the R&B ballad.  All in all, great work!

Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta was the show the lips of everyone and their dog this Summer. Indeed, the VH1 hit brought with it just the right dose of drama, ratchet, and real life to render it a must-see.

Now, as the show prepares to air a ‘Dirty Little Secrets’ special this Sunday (8PM ET), a hilarious spoof starring actress Essence Atkins has surfaced.

After what seems like an eternity, January 16th 2013 marks the arrival of the new and improved ‘American Idol‘, starring dated diva Mariah Carey and ‘Masquerade‘ Rapper Nicki Minaj.

So last night, in hopes of cranking up excitement for the show, the ladies joined their fellow judges for a day or promo- which saw select media invited to quiz all involved on what can be expected come the new year.
