Much to the delight of her fan base,yesterday saw confirmation from ‘SOS‘ singer Rihanna that her sixth studio album would be released this coming fall.

The follow up to the LP ‘Loud‘, the project’s campaign is set to coincide with the release of the movie ‘Battleship‘ in which Ms. Fenty stars in.

The video for Kelly Rowland‘s new single ‘Lay It On Me’ may be a saucy affair, however the singer opts for a simple, yet breathtaking shot for the release’s artwork.

Heating up at radio, the Big Sean assisted cut currently sits at #53 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. And by the look of its audience impressions and forthcoming video, only looks set to climb higher.

One of rap’s leading freshmen J. Cole is certainly making his promo rounds in preparation for his debut LP ‘Cole World: A Sideline Story’.  According to Billboard, the rising rapper is dropping footage everyday until September 20th to count down the release of the aforementioned album.

With his Trey Songz-assisted, soon-to-be hit ‘Can’t Get Enough’ already making a splash on radio and debuting its accompanying visual this week, fans who really ‘can’t get enough’ of Cole have been invited to join him backstage in his latest footage drop.

Headlines circulated all summer-long about of pop diva Mariah Carey‘s involvement with highly anticipated reality talent show X Factor USA.  Speaking with the show’s craftsman Simon Cowell, People magazine once quoted him saying:

“You can’t say no to Mariah,” says Cowell, 51. “We have to find a role for her. I’m a huge fan of hers – not just as an artist, but as a person, and I love her to death.”

Guess that was then.  With confirmation recently surfacing of fellow pop diva Rihanna‘s role on the show, FOX caught up with the sharp tongued Simon to get the skinny on the status of Mrs. Cannon’s involvement.  As ever, Cowell had ‘interesting’ comments.

In support of her forthcoming studio release,  ‘The High Road’ songstress Jojo is wowing fans and critics alike on the road and documenting every step of her tour chronicles via her Youtube vlog.  The new album ‘Jumping Trains’ (led by ‘Disaster’), which she describes as ‘pop with anger management problems’, is expected on record shelves in early 2012.

Joined on a nationwide trek with fellow pop performers Joe Jonas and Jay Sean, the singer’s most recent recorded pit stop was in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

With parts 1 and 2 already boasting quite the buzz, fans are now invited to join Jojo during New York Fashion week and view parts 3 and 4 after the jump:

Blige filled The Fillmore Silver Spring last night for its grand (re)opening.  And though some fans felt slighted by the ‘No More Drama’ diva’s short set (lasting less than 75 minutes), being treated to nearly two decades worth of hits certainly helped ease the disappointment.
