This week’s That Grape Juice Cover Star is Megan Vice. The US native turns in a solid rendition of Jessie J‘s banger ‘Do It Like A Dude’.

Check it out Vice’s stripped-back version below:

Though at times sounding somewhat ‘karaoke’ (J’s distinctive adlibs are becoming somewhat her trademark), Megan certainly held her own; delivering, with this performance, a great take, on an awesome song. Good stuff.

Peep Pop pretender Cheryl Cole on the cover of February’s Elle magazine. Ms. Cole’s talent may be an enigma, yet she sure stays posing on these covers. More power to her…I guess.

Tidbit: Cole’s current single ‘The Flood’ is struggling to pass the #18 spot on the Official UK Singles Charts. Ouch.

The astronomical ascension and collapse of Ashanti’s career have bewildered industry pundits for quite some time. Within a period of just 6 years – from 2002 to 2008 – the former Princess of R&B has fallen from the triple platinum success of her self-titled debut to barely selling 200k copies of her last album, ‘The Declaration’.

Although there is no obvious reason for the decline of Ashanti’s popularity, many agree that it coincided with the explosive arrival of Beyonce the solo artist – who is simply a better singer, dancer and performer – and the crumbling of the Murder, Inc. empire.

However, regardless of all that has happened, there are many who cling to the hope that Ashanti will return to relevance. Still, the key question that arises from this situation is this: what type of sound will she need to accomplish such a career revival?

Chart sensation Jessie J stopped by the Pinboard and Red Bull hosted ‘Rehearsal Rooms’ recently to perform her current smash ‘Do It Like A Dude’. The originally-intended buzz track has proven a run-away success – currently sitting at #2 in the UK midweek chart – with little to no mainstream promotion.

Clearly, 2011 is shaping up to be the year the singer-songwriter has long been grinding for.

Check out what the hype is about after the jump…
