Cool interview. She seems more relaxed in her interviews nowadays.
Speculation is mounting that Beyonce and Jay Z have split (ain’t we heard that one before?). This time may be for real though. They have not been seen together for some time now and Jay’s increasingly suspect lyrics (i.e. Lost Ones) may prove that they are done.
Dunno if this is true but if it is then oh well. Both their profiles were raised off the back of the other so its all good.
According to MCODB, a fan who attended the Pinko party last night spoke with one of Mariah’s people – Mark Sudack (a member of her management team) and was able get to the following regarding her new album:– They have a title, and its certainly not Illusions: The Butterfly Within (the rumoured title).
– The album is NOT in a complete or near complete state. Mariah will be putting her full focus on it immediately after completion of the filming of the Tennessee movie.
– They do have an album title.
– If there are two albums this year (as Def Jam claimed), one will be the mainstream studio album and the second will be a Christmas one.
– The album will be released last quarter. Nothing until after September.

Veteran singer Diana Ross was reportedly shocked when she was invited by Oscar representatives to sing one of the nominated songs from the musical ‘Dreamgirls’, at the Oscar ceremony.The legend has earlier admitted that she hasn’t watched the film, which is based on her rise to fame with ‘The Supremes’, and that she would watch it with her lawyer.
“I haven’t seen it – maybe I should see it with my lawyer,” she has been quoted as saying. LOL
However, Ms Ross is yet to respond to the invitation to sing at the event, scheduled on February 25. It would’nt surprise me if she did, her latest album ‘I Love You’ flopped hard upon release last month, so she needs the promo.

King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has resurfaced on a new track called No Friend of Mine (Gangsta). The track, which also features Pras (of the Fugees), was produced by a producer/DJ called Tempamental. MJ sings the hook and has a verse on the track aswell; the harmonies are serious.I’ve had the song for a while and like many, I was kinda sceptical about the track (Michael Jackson on a track called Gangsta=wtf??!!), but I am loving the song. It seems as though I ain’t the only one; No Friend of Mine has been in rotation on some of London’s biggest radio stations – Choice Fm and 1Xtra. Season 3 American Idol winner Fantasia will be making an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show. Scheduled for sometime later this month, lets hope Tasia’s appearance helps the sales of her self-titled latest album. Released this past December, Soundscan shows it to have only sold 285,000 copies in total. Not good, especially when it was one of the better albums released last year.In Billboard chart news, Nelly Furtado has scored her 2nd #1 single on the Hot 100 Chart- ending Beyonce’s 10 week reign with Irreplaceable. Her single Say It Right jumps #2-#1 this week. Congratulations to both of them; Nelly Furtado was largely considered a one-hit wonder this time last year and people been doubting Beyonce – me included.
Whilst Jennifer Hudson continues to garner praise for her role in the Dreamgirls movie, it has just been announced that the original Effie (from the Broadway show) – Jennifer Holiday will be performing the song she made famous ‘And I Am Telling You’ on E!’s Oscar Pre-Show. I personally can’t wait for this, she is a vocal power-house and tears it down each time she performs the song. Be sure to check it out.
