Jazmine Sullivan may be counted by many as one of the best R&B vocalists to ever touch a microphone, but even she still has fan-girl moments when it comes to her idols.
And while’s she has shared stages or studio time with names like Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Brandy, Monica, John Legend, Fantasia, and many other big names, there’s one that still eludes her: music megastar Beyoncé.
After multiple unkept promises about the arrival of ‘Pretty B*tch Music,’ the long-awaited debut album from rapper Saweetie, fans of the diva – affectionately called #IcyGang – may have assumed the LP’s status had turned to a cold case.
But, if recent news from the GRAMMY nominee is anything to judge by, she’s ready to turn up the heat this winter with a new musical project to act as a warm-up.

As the critical acclaim for Babyface‘s latest album, the October 21-released ‘Girls Night Out,’ continues to roll in, the legendary singer-songwriter is giving the ladies even more of a reason to cop the new set by unveiling the stunning music video for its housed tune, ‘Simple.’
Featuring Coco Jones, the Sara Lacombe-directed clip sees the two trade verses about lovers on the rocks who are reflecting on better days.
“Remember back when we had nothin’ in between / Before we had these issues, it’s nothin’ like it used to (Nothin’ like it used to) / They way it used to be when love was so easy / I know it’s sentimental (Yeah) / I wish it was that simple (Yeah), simple,” Jones croons on the chorus.

And while its lengthy list of wins on that chart are mirrored by those on the Hot 100, there are a few standouts on the latter tally – namely the number of legendary acts she leaves in her rearview in the wake of the LP’s success.
