If her Saturday shade trade with fellow rapper DaBaby is any evidence (June 19), ‘Savage’ hitmaker Megan Thee Stallion is looking to prove she is still just that.
See what we mean.
A day before Juneteenth was commemorated as a federal holiday for the first time in its 156-year history, ABC celebrated the occasion with a stirring tribute TV special – “Juneteenth: Together We Triumph – A ‘Soul of a Nation” (June 18).
The two-hour televised event – which featured appearances from the likes of former President Barack Obama, Michael Strahan, Leslie Odom, Jr., and many more – also was rocked by roof-raising performances from the likes of Chloe (of Chloe x Halle fame) and H.E.R.
The latter – hot on the promo trail in support of her long-awaited debut album ‘Back of My Mind’ – delivered a particularly riveting performance of her Academy Award-winning song ‘Fight For You’ (which was originally featured on the ‘Judas & the Black Messiah’ soundtrack).

‘BET Presents The Encore’ has set social media ablaze.
Despite being at its start, the show – which sees familiar faces from 90s and 00s bands form a supergroup – has delivered drama in earnest.
Speaking with That Grape Juice, Cherish members Fallon and Felisha King reveal that things continue to “get crazy” as the ensemble work towards making an album in 30 days.
Chatting with TGJ’s Chet Kincaid, the singers open up about their mindset heading into the show, their hope that their castmates would be “of the same talent (level),” and more.

While some argue Chloe Bailey came out swinging for the inaugural performance of her first official solo release, a remake of Nina Simone classic ‘Feeling Good’ (found on the ‘Liberated / Music For The Movement Vol. 3’ EP which can be streamed here), others slammed the young songstress for a showing chock-full of choreography many deemed provocative and ill-fitted for the occasion.
Easily lending the most talked about moment from ABC’s ‘Juneteenth: Together We Triumph’ (#SoulofANation) TV special Friday night (June 18), Bailey’s hip-winding, dipping, and popping even garnered mixed reviews from within the Simone estate.
Moments after the late icon’s official Twitter handle delivered a tweet-and-delete suggesting disapproval of the performance, Nina’s granddaughter hopped online to defend Chloe.
Kandi Burruss is staying busy.
According to Deadline, the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter has joined the producing team for the upcoming Broadway debut of Keenan Scott II‘s ‘Thoughts of a Colored Man.’

Readers of That Grape Juice know how passionate we are about music – whether that be past or present.
However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.
This week, we want to highlight cuts from Majid Jordan, David Guetta & Becky Hill, Mabel, and Jonas Brothers.

It’s officially a wrap for Jamie Foxx‘s new Netflix sitcom ‘Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!’
Because just two months after its debut, the streamer has pulled the plug on the sitcom – which was billed as the superstar’s big return to the genre following the success of ‘The Jamie Foxx Show’ in the 90s.

Chloe Bailey delivers yet again.
After a series of stunning covers – such as Rihanna‘s ‘Love On The Brain’ and Cardi B‘s ‘Be Careful’ – she continued her hot streak with her take on Nina Simone‘s classic ‘Feeling Good.’
Taking the stage for ABC‘s Juneteenth: Together We Triumph, Bailey served her stunning performance of the track. Set against the moon as a backdrop, she showcased intricate choreography and stellar vocals.

Spice is blazing the promotional trail in support of her latest hit single ‘Go Down Deh’ and the Wendy Williams Show was her latest stop.
