The Super Bowl Halftime Show is known as the biggest spectacle on Earth and for good reason given the 100 million+ eyes that are annually glued to TV screens in its anticipation.

Compounded with the opportunity to be etched in history is the highly coveted slot’s boosts in its performers’ sales, streams, recognition, and – for some – accolades (see: Emmy nominations).

Amid ongoing criticism of the NFL’s response to complaints of its treatment of players of color (as well as slow response to the issue of racial injustice at large), the league’s tapped Jesse Collins – courtesy of Roc Nation – to serve as the extravaganza’s first African American executive producer.

With the spotlight brighter than ever for Collins and the show to deliver next year, who among today’s crop of top acts is deserving to become immortalized by joining an exclusive list that includes the likes of Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, & more?

October 16 brought with it ‘The LIBRA’ – the long-awaited new album from T.I.

A star-studded affair featuring the likes of Rick Ross, Young Thug, Killer Mike, Jeremih, 21 Savage, Snoop Dogg, John Legend, and more, the project comes as TIP’s first since 2018’s ‘Dime Trap.’

As ‘Dime’ came as his first effort to miss the Billboard 200’s top 10 since his 2001 debut, ‘I’m Serious,’ the 40-year-old has gotten serious about ensuring ‘LIBRA’ doesn’t suffer a similar fate.  His latest bid to secure a placement in the tally’s topmost dectet comes via new single, ‘Pardon,’ featuring Lil Baby.

She may be hot on the promo trail for her latest album, ‘ALICIA,’ but 15-time GRAMMY winner Alicia Keys doesn’t mind taking a detour trip down memory lane to revisit the hits that made her the best-selling female R&B act of the new millennium.

Forced to postpone the new LP’s supporting world tour due to the ongoing global health crisis (as we reported here), the diva’s making up for the rescheduled jaunt by dedicating free virtual concerts to the B-sides of her first three albums – ‘Songs in A Minor,’ ‘The Diary of Alicia Keys,’ and ‘As I Am.’

Though squeezing in performances of hits like ‘A Woman’s Worth,’ ‘Teenage Love Affair,’ and ‘Diary’ across the 90 minutes of live showings, she primarily focused on fan favorites that never got the official single treatment like ‘Lesson Learned,’ ‘Sure Looks Good to Me,’ ‘Go Ahead,”Girlfriend,’ ‘Wake Up,’ ‘Nobody Not Really,’ and more.

JoJo‘s been getting by with a little help from her friends all year long.

When not blessing fans with collaborations with Tory Lanez, Tinashe, Demi Lovato, and Diane Warren, the GRAMMY winner’s showing love to the next generation of talents.  The latest lift from the latter bunch comes courtesy of Nashville newcomer Lindsey Lomis.

After making her major label debut earlier this year with tunes ‘Feel’ and ‘Bones,’ the 17-year-old Lomis linked with Jo for the heart-tugging ‘Slow Motion.’

Written alongside Ryan Daley, Lomis recently dished on the inspiration behind the song.

“‘Slow Motion’ is dedicated to my best friend,” Lindsey said of the song. “It’s about slowing it down, caring less about what people think of you, and simply living your life. To just let go. This is something I struggle with a lot. I feel the need to please people over myself — I think we all do.”
