With every new report the stories surrounding the mysterious, alleged late January attack of singer/actor Jussie Smollett takes more twists and turns than a daytime soap opera.

As we previously reported, Chicago police originally stated there were no persons of interests discovered after reviewing hours of footage from “city street cams” near the location of the alleged incident.  Days later, they not only discovered two men but even made arrests in the days that followed that discovery.

Those first suspects – former ‘Empire’ actors – were released without charge in light of “new evidence.”  Now, CNN and a number of major outlets are reporting that new evidence revolves around an investigation that suggests Smollett orchestrated his own attack.  Details inside:

ABC hit ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ is back for a firework filled-fifth season.

The legal drama, which stars Emmy winner Viola Davis, follows a group of ambitious law students and their brilliant criminal defence professor.

Last season brought with it a countless list of shocking twists and the newest run is already delivering a whole lot more. Particularly with the addition of Rome Flynn.

It all makes for a riveting watch. And like millions, we’re all sorts of hooked!

Are we the only ones who love when awards’ season is in full swing?

With the Grammys and Golden Globes in our rearview, next up is the NAACP Image Awards.

Unveiling its full list of nods today, the prestigious award honors actors, actresses, singers, authors, and activists of color, in and out of the entertainment industry, via its 50th annual presentation this year live on TV One.

Music royals such as Beyonce, JAY-Z, and Janet Jackson all landed noms in the recording categories, as did  Grammy-winning newcomers such as H.E.R and Ella Mai.

Elsewhere Netflix and HBO lead in the TV categories.

Motown legend Smokey Robinson hasn’t been shy about defending Jennifer Lopez from critics of her tribute to the iconic label at the 2019 Grammy Awards.

Ahead of the performance (which courted backlash at its announcement from people arguing the show’s organizers were overlooking more deserving performers in favor of the ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ singer), Robinson took to press to call detractors ‘stupid’ for disqualifying the singer/actress’ because of her race (click here to watch).

Now, after the showing was met with mixed review (as we reported here), the ‘I Second That Emotion’ singer is handing out a second helping of clap back on behalf of the 49-year-old stage blazer.  See the video and read his Instagram statement inside:

When headlines swirled just a month ago indicating 10 women had come forward to accuse ‘Extra’ host A.J. Calloway of sexual misconduct (as we reported here), the show’s parent company – Warner Bros. – stated they ‘no plans’ on investigating.  Since then, in light of pressure from external sources and reportedly newfound evidence, they’ve changed their tune.

‘Shop Around’ singer Smokey Robinson wasn’t kidding around when he weighed in on the barrage of reports slamming the Recording Academy for selecting Jennifer Lopez as one of the stars set to tribute Motown at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards (February 10).

As we reported here, Twitter erupted at news the ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ singer was onboard to pay homage the iconic record label with some questioning why “more talented African American artists” were passed up in favor of Lopez.

When quizzed on his thoughts about the hoop-la, Robinson – who penned some of the label’s most memorable hits – didn’t bite his tongue, level branding some of the critics as ‘stupid.’  Hear it from him inside:

Taraji P. Henson is earning rave reviews for her starring role in ‘What Men Want’ – a flick she also co-produced.

A contemporary take on Mel Gibson‘s 2000 original, this incarnation sees Henson star as a female sports agent who’s fed up after consistently being frozen out by her male coworkers. She suddenly gains the power to hear men’s thoughts and she uses it shift the pendulum of power to her advantage as she races to sign the NBA’s next big superstar.

That Grape Juice was on hand at the film’s Los Angeles premiere and caught up with Henson, Kelly Rowland, Tamala Jones, Will Packer, Kim Whitley, and more – all of who opened up about the movie everyone is talking about. Check out what they had to say above.

As we reported here, former foes Meek Mill and Drake took to the streets of Los Angeles last month to film the music video for their collaboration, ‘Going Bad.’

Directed by Kid Art, the cinematic clip features a bevy of cameos from some of Hip Hop’s biggest movers and shakers including Swizz Beatz, Mustard, T.I., Nipsey Hussle, and many more.

The Wheezy-produced song, found on Meek’s chart-topping album ‘Championships,’ had already reached a #15 peak on the Hot 100 from hype alone.  Undoubtedly this visual will help push it into the top 10.
