With a career as colossal and enduring as Eddie Murphy‘s, there aren’t many unconquered corners. This festive season sees the funnyman add another notch to his belt by starring in his first holiday movie, ‘Candy Cane Lane.’

The film tells the tale of Chris (Murphy) – a man on a mission to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest.

After unintentionally striking a deal with a calculated elf to heighten his chances of winning the competition, she casts a magic spell that brings the 12 Days of Christmas to life and spreads chaos around town.

Chris, his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross), and their three children are tasked with racing against the clock to undo the elf’s spell.

‘Candy Cane Lane’ reunites Murphy with director Reginald Hudlin and producer Brian Grazer for the first time since their 1992 smash, ‘Boomerang.’
