In what came as no surprise, Beyonce‘s highly anticipated eighth studio album – the March 29-released ‘Cowboy Carter’ – was quickly forecasted to ride to the top of the Billboard 200 the week after its inaugural sales tracking completed.

Originally predicted to sell in the range of 350,000 copies its first week, the Country-flavored effort – which boasted features from the likes of Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and more was already on its way to blockbuster status before news of history-making streams at Spotify and Amazon Music were reported.

With those figures in tow, industry analysts took to press on Wednesday (April 2) to offer a revised prediction for the ‘Cowboy’ opening.

‘Truth Hurts’ hitmaker Lizzo had her dedicated fans (affectionately called #Lizzbians) hurt and confused at the notion she was hanging up her boots and retiring from the music industry.

In a shocking rant lifted to social media late last week, the GRAMMY winner declared she “quit” because was “tired of being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet” and that she felt like “the world doesn’t want me in it.”

While not expressly stating she was quitting music, the language suggested in the post still spurred an outpour of support with many of the singer’s supporters even sharing concern about her mental health.

Having found top 40 success on the updated Adult Pop radio chart with her newest single, ‘Been Like This’ (#25 peak to date), singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor is undoubtedly hoping the T-Pain-assisted bop is Hot 100 bound – a journey she seems poised to power with an energetic round of promo.

The latest tread in that stead comes courtesy of a behind the scenes look at the song’s accompanying music video, the first lifted from her soon-to-come sixth studio album ‘Timeless.’

Cher was most deservedly awarded the Icon Award at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday night (April 1), an honor that not only saw her deliver a heartwarming acceptance speech but also perform some of her greatest hits.

To the surprise of viewers, her fellow EMMY, GRAMMY, and OSCAR winner Jennifer Hudson kicked off the tribute segment by performing the 1989 classic, ‘If I Could Turn Back Time,’ before being joined by the 77-year-old Pop diva to sing the #1 hit ‘Believe.’

And while Hudson’s signature performance stylings have won her thunderous applause over the years during homages to Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Prince, and others, she may have struck out with viewers when she ignited that same vocal engine for Cher’s.
