Jerrod Carmichael is making his return to HBO with a new docuseries.

Titled ‘Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show,’ the series promises to be a soul-bearing series that shows family tensions, famous friends and a new boyfriend for the comedian.

In particular, the show will show the tension that he feels in his relationship with his parents, mainly his mother since he came out to her.

In one scene, Carmichael is praying with his mom when his mom asks God to “take the desire” of her son to be with another man.

The docuseries premieres March 29 at 11 p.m. ET. The series can also be streamed on Max. New episodes will make their debut weekly.

Rap music has long dominated the Pop cultural landscape – birthing some of the biggest stars and biggest movements in history.

Parallel to its popularity, however, there has been an increasing legal spotlight on its lyrics.

Indeed, high-profile court cases have seen musical bars lead to artists being put behind bars. A reality that has ignited ample debate around how just such a practice is.

Paramount+ shines a light on the discourse in the powerful new documentary ‘As We Speak: Rap Music on Trial.’

Helmed by J.M. Harper, the powerful special follows Bronx Rap artist Kemba as he delves deep into the growing weaponization of Rap lyrics in the US criminal justice system and beyond.

Cardi B fans, affectionately called the #BardiGang, launched a sales and streaming war to block her longtime nemesis Nicki Minaj‘s latest album, ‘Pink Friday 2,’ from coloring its name atop the Billboard 200 in December.

While their endeavor was unsuccessful, Minaj’s fans – affectionately called #Barbz – apparently didn’t forget as they officially clapped back when Cardi delivered her new single ‘Like What‘ on Friday (March 1).

Amid critical acclaim and warm reception, the GRAMMY winner seemed a shoo-in for the top spot on real-time iTunes sales chart.  That is, until Nicki blocked her with a nearly 4-month-old song thanks to her loyal fans.

Real love isn’t exactly what Summer Walker was on the receiving end of after some staunch Mary J. Blige fans copped a gander at her tribute performance on the 2024 Urban One Honors on Sunday (February 25).

Taking to the stage to deliver a medley of the Hip Hop Soul Queen’s hits like ‘Real Love,’ ‘My Life,’ and more, Walker royally divided viewers with her homage to Blige (on hand to receive the night’s Icon Award). So much so, some of them took to social media in droves to share their displeasure with the performance.

Indirectly seeking justice in the court of public opinion for his client, Justice Baiden – Summer’s manager – took to social media himself this week to admonish critics for using their platforms to tear down artists overall.

Look inside to see what he said.
