Shania Twain proves yet again that she is still the one.

The Grammy-winning country legend, who broke boundaries for the genre on the pop charts with her albums ‘The Woman in Me’ and ‘Come On Over’ (the best selling album by a female in history), took an unexpected 15-year break after her mega-selling 2002 album,’Up,’ gave her the distinction of being the only female artist in history to release three consecutive diamond-selling albums.

Now, with her new album, conveniently titled ‘Now,’ the songstress (over 20 years since her debut) is continuing to make her presence felt on the pop charts.  As forecasted here, the album – despite having no Hot 100-charting singles to lead it to battle against top pop stars Miley Cyrus & Demi Lovato – not only triumphed over their sets on the bid for the top spot, but sold double that of Lovato (who emerged as Twain’s nearest competitor).

With this victory, Twain entered charts at #1 and claims with her the second highest first week sales of any female this year (to date).  Details inside:

#AMAsAreOverParty continues to trend as women flock to Twitter to voice their disapproval of the male-centric American Music Awards’ nominations for this year’s telecast, unveiled today by R&B songstress Ciara (click here to read more on that).

Slammed by some social media users as the “American Misogyny Awards” or “American Men Awards,” the show – which sees females largely absent from its roster of nods for the 2017 edition – is under fire for the underrepresentation.  While fans of Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and Ed Sheeran are celebrating their faves’ leading the nomination tally for the annual awards ceremony (set to air November 19th), supporters of Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift are crying foul:

Chris Brown may very well be the hardest working man in music.

When not lending his vocals and likeness to a seemingly never ending list of feature placements aboard fellow R&B and Hip Hop acts, the R&B bad boy is hard at work fueling promotional vehicles for his forthcoming studio album, ‘Heartbreak on a Full Moon’ (available October 31).

Now, less than three weeks before dropping the set, Brown’s tapped ‘PIE’ collaborator Future and ‘Dat Night’ co-star Young Thug to assist on ‘High End’ – one of 45 songs set to load ‘Full Moon’s tracklist.  Hear it inside:

A week after giving fans a taste of ‘Honey,’ R&B songstress Kehlani is preparing fans for her ‘Touch.’  A Halloween-themed affair, Kehlani coos over the eerie instrumentation: “You in my bone/ Your kisses feel like home/ With you, I never rush/ This ain’t no stupid crush.”

And, while she’s yet to share news on if ‘Honey’ and/or ‘Touch’ will be featured on her sophomore album, the follow-up to 2017’s ‘SweetSexySavage,’ what we do know is the latter tune is a “part of Budweiser’s 17-country global campaign to help bring the Halloween spirit to individuals all over the world.”

Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, just as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’ allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

This week we’re gonna give ya ‘Gimme More’ – the lead single from Britney Spears fifth studio album, ‘Blackout’ [click here to read our ode to the album].  Unveiled via an awesomely bad MTV VMA performance, the tune – produced by Timbaland protege Danja and written by Keri Hilson – was officially released in late September 2007.  Just a few weeks later, the song zoomed to #3 on the Hot 100 (where it was found this week that year).  Going on to nearly double platinum status thanks to its stripper-inspired video (a break from her normally highly choreographed numbers), ‘Gimme’ – which remains a fan favorite over 10 years later – officially kicked off the era known by many of her staunchest supporters as her ‘magnum opus.’

John Legend continues to showcase the different shades of album ‘Darkness & Light’ with the release of new single ‘Penthouse Floor.’
Chance The Rapper joins JL on the jam, the video for which arrived moments ago.
Narrative driven, the visual  sees the singer take on the role of a hotel’s ’employee of the month.’ Working a shift during a Black Lives Matter protest, he tries to  bring about unity in a divided United States.
Speaking on the clip, Legend said:
“With the chorus of going to the penthouse floor, we were thinking about upward mobility, and thinking about escape. The more I sat with the song as I was making the record, I wanted to have more attention in the song where I was thinking about not just upward mobility and escaping, but also thinking about what it means to come from humble beginnings like I come from, a blue collar family, where people that are often ignored and forgotten about, and to elevate to more rarified air like I am now but to not forget about where you come from. And to use your power and status to uplift people and shine a light on places where we come from. That is what the song lyrically evolved to and that is what the video represents.”
