Britney Spears has hit many a major stage in her time, but according to sources she has her heart set on the Super Bowl 2018.
Having expressed said desires to her team, advocates for the 35-year-old are said to have been in “secret” discussions with organizers of next year’s Halftime Show – which takes place in Minneapolis on February 4th.
The apparent thinking from Britney and her team is that she has the catalogue and the name brand, so it’ll be an attractive prospect for both viewers and advertisers. There’s reportedly talk of pairing Spears with other acts to fill the 12 minute spot.
If indeed a “go,” it’d technically be the singer’s 2nd Halftime appearance; she previously performed as a guest alongside Aerosmith and Nsync. [Source]

No. Just no.
And we say that as appreciators of Britney’s legacy. Because should she do it, she’s liable to make a permanent blotch on her legacy that can’t be removed nor glossed over.
No matter which way it’s diced or sliced, she is a shadow of a shadow of a shadow of the performer she once was. Something everyone would become privy to seeing should she be carted out to “perform.”
Even pairing her with other acts runs risk of highlighting her diminished abilities.
So, again, issa no from us.
Perhaps, in light of her love for live singing, she could kick off festivities with the US Nation Anthem?
