Beyonce‘s foray into Country music has been nothing short of historic.
Beyond watching the single ‘16 Carriages‘ ride her into history books for being one of few female singers with over 50 top 40 hits, the Killah B-produced ‘Texas Hold ‘Em‘ took hold of the Hot 100’s top spot this week – a feat that made her the first Black woman to occupy the hitlist’s summit with a Country tune.
As if that’s not enough to boast, she joins Taylor Swift as the only women to top the all-genre chart with a Country hit this century.
And, while her beloved fanbase – affectionately call the #Beyhive – continue to buzz over the aforementioned triumphs, there may be an even bigger reason to celebrate.
After Lifetime watched their made-for-TV movie ‘Single Black Female‘ march to historic ratings in 2022 (coming as the year’s #1 original non-holiday movie), the women’s network is undoubtedly hoping to repeat the feat with its sequel: ‘Single Black Female 2: Simone’s Revenge.’
Seeing stars Raven Goodwin, Amber Riley, and K. Michelle reprise their roles, the new film takes place three years later and shows Monica (Goodwin) ready to start life anew in Seattle. Unbeknownst to her, Simone (Riley) is cooking up a murderous plot of revenge.
Will she succeed this time?

The promo campaign mounted for Jennifer Lopez‘s latest album, ‘This Is Me…Now,’ was nothing short of impressive.
When not tackling morning and late night talk shows, Lopez made her rounds to ‘SNL‘ as well as radio, print, and Web outlets amid promotion of the project’s accompanying movie on Prime Video.
The combined potency of the exposure helped ‘Now’ soar to be the week’s best-selling album, defeating the likes of Billboard top-sellers like Yeat‘s ‘2093,’ Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign‘s ‘Vultures 1,’ Usher‘s ‘Coming Home,’ and Taylor Swift projects.
Yet, in a polarizing twist, the figures that lifted it to #1 on the pure Album Sales chart were barely enough to land it in the Billboard 200’s top 40.
Usher‘s electrifying halftime show at the 2024 Super Bowl may have boasted a who’s who of guests including GRAMMY winners H.E.R., Will.i.am, Ludacris, Lil Jon, and more, but the standout definitely came when he called on Alicia Keys to share the Allegiant Stadium stage to perform their #1 hit ‘My Boo.’
Madonna may be speeding through her critically and commercially acclaimed ‘Celebration Tour‘ quicker than a ray of light, but – as we reported here – it’s still taking her too long to get to the stage to crank out her hits.
So long, in fact, a group of concertgoers announced intent to take the ‘Take a Bow‘ singer to court for her excessive tardiness.
