Taraji P. Henson takes center stage in Tyler Perry‘s ‘Straw.’

Set for release on Netflix, the compelling drama follows a single mother whose world is flipped on its axis.

With her days descending into the chaotic as she struggles to cope with her daughter, she’s pushed to the edge when feeling like the world is indifferent to both her struggles and her very existence.

Written and directed by Perry, the film stars Henson, Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor, Sinbad, Rockmond Dunbar, Ashley Versher, Mike Merrill, and Glynn Turman.

London is turning the volume all the way up this summer. And leading the charge is Mayor Sadiq Khan, who has launched a campaign that shines a spotlight on the capital’s world-leading grassroots music scene.

The Mayor and TfL (Transport for London) have teamed up with leading music and media entities to celebrate revered venues and artists and the seismic impact they continue to have.

Central to the campaign is the first-ever Grassroots Music Tube Map, which is housed at Outernet London for the next month.

The dynamic map features London’s music venues, iconic and contemporary artists, nightclubs, songs, albums, independent record labels, record shops, and locations of music heritage.

That Grape Juice had the privilege of speaking with the Mayor of London at the launch.

In an exclusive chat with TGJ’s Nadia Mumuni, Khan opened up about his bold new initiative and reflected on seeing some of the biggest names on the charts at key London venues.

Racing toward the May 30 release of her new album ‘Something Beautiful,’ Pop diva Miley Cyrus has given her dedicated fans (affectionately called #Smilerz) something beautiful to look at while they wait for the LP’s delivery: the music video for her new single ‘More to Lose.’

The fourth song from the project to get the video treatment following ‘Prelude,’ ‘Something Beautiful,’ and ‘End of the World,’ ‘Lose’ comes as a stripped-down, emotional ballad that sees the songstress reflect on the end of a passionate love affair.

“I stay / When the ecstasy is far away / And I pray / That it’s comin’ ’round again,” sings Cyrus. “And you say it / But I wish it wasn’t true, oh / I knew someday that one would have to choose / I just thought we had more to lose.”

Saweetie comes through with the reminder that she’s still ‘that girl’ in the music video for Paul Russell‘s new single ‘That Girl.’

A New Jack Swing-inspired cut, the duo tapped director Logan Meis to help bring the song to life with a visual that sees its stars orchestrating a sexy art gallery heist.

“Hey, Zaddy, heard you lookin’ for Saweetie? / See you linking with ’em dupes, you can never repeat me / Ponytail with a swoop and a juicy booty / I admit when he trick, I get loosey goosey,” the Rap diva spits over Sean Cook production.

According to Saweetie, the musical collaboration has been years in the making.

“Me and Paul were supposed to collaborate for some time and we finally found the perfect record,” she shared. “When I heard ‘That Girl,’ I knew I had to be on it. It’s got a nostalgic summertime vibe that makes you want to have fun. It’s something for my icy girls to listen to when they want to tap into their confidence. Always remember: you’re that girl!”

After ample teasing, R&B superstar Mya recently lifted the lid on her new single ‘Face to Face.’

Her first musical offering of 2025, ‘Face’ shines as a standalone release and follows the warmly received 2024 tune ‘Anytime.’

“Face to face (yeah) Face to face / Looked in the mirror, I confronted all my fears—had a / Face to face (yeah) Face to face / And now the road look a lil’ bit clearer like / Place to place (yeah) Place to place / And err’where I go, I know I don’t walk alone,” sings Mya over MyGuyMars production.
