Hot on the promotional trail for ‘Gladiator II,’ the veteran actor revealed that ‘Black Panther’ director Ryan Coogler is readying a role in the third instalment of the Marvel franchise.

When quizzed by Australia’s Channel 9 about his future plans, the 70-year-old said:

“At this point in my career, I’m only interested in working with the best, I don’t know how many more films I will make, probably not that many. I want to do things that I haven’t done.”

Continuing, he added:

“I played Othello at 22, I’m now going to play it at 70. fter that, I’m playing Hannibal. After that, I’ve been talking with Steve McQueen about a film. After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther.”

One of the most successful film series’ of all-time, 2018’s ‘Black Panther’ was a box office blockbuster – soaring past $1 Billion at the global box office. Its 2022 sequel, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ also dominated. The latter is rendered particularly monumental given the collective effort to navigate the tragic death of lead Chadwick Boseman, who died in between the release of the movies after a private battle with cancer.
