On this day DC Comics will unleash the action-heavy beast that is ‘Suicide Squad.’

Fronted by Viola Davis, Jared Leto and Will Smith, the movie tells the story of a group of super villains who are assembled to complete a deadly mission.

Sound intriguing?

It is!

So, keen to give fans good reason to support the project, Davis, Smith and their comical gang made their way to Comic Con to share exciting new details about the epic release.

As reported here, ‘Full Moon’ maestra Brandy is moving full speed ahead refiling suit against Chameleon Entertainment (her record label home) and its president, Breyon Prescott, who – according to her – is refusing to release her from the “unfair” contract she’s signed with them.

Taking to Billboard, B-Rocka revealed:

“I’m as free as a bird in my mind,” Brandy tells Billboard. “But on paper, it looks like I’m a slave. And I’m not a slave. The kind of deal I’m signed to should be criminal to any artist.”

While time will tell if the Grammy winning diva will win her suit seeking over $270,000 from damages allegedly incurred during her time on the label, one thing is certain – she is losing the favor of Prescott and co. as they took to TMZ recently to clap back at her ‘slavery’ allegations.

Tank must have forgotten his fiery rant against fans not supporting his efforts some time ago because he’s released 2 project since then and, if reports are to be believed, is set to release two more over the next year.

After recently confirming his group TGT (with Tyrese and Ginuwine) have reconciled and are readying a new album, Tank is now hard at work creating the follow-up to his solo effort ‘Sex, Love, & Pain II’ (released earlier this year).

The first taste of what he’s set to serve comes courtesy of the BAM-produced tune ‘No Drugs.’ Hear it below:

Jennifer Lopez continues to prove herself an ever-lasting slay.

The media maven turns 47 today and rung in the occasion last night with a turn up in Las Vegas, home of her successful ‘All I Have’ residency.

Donning a fierce brown catsuit courtesy of Balmain, the singer/actress/entrepreneur was joined by an interest mix of names. Said list included French Montana, Kim Kardashian, and Calvin Harris. 

Given recent events (see: Taylor Swift), the latter two stars definitely make for a timely collective.

Marvel‘s ‘Black Panther’ movie may be set for a 2018 release, but excitement is still at fever pitch.

Said buzz cranked up a notch last night at Comic-Con 2016 in San Diego.

Why?

It’s the first time the cast for the hotly anticipated flick assembled.

Posing with director Ryan Coogler were Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, and latest addition Danai Gurira.

Keri Hilson is on the comeback trail.

Six years have passed since the singer-songwriter released her sophomore album ‘No Boys Allowed,’ which spurned the hit ‘Pretty Girl Rock.’

In the time after, Hilson has been noticeably missing from the music scene – with little explanation as to why. Although, many have cited a romantic relationship when answering the questions surrounding her whereabouts.

Oddly, the start of the year saw a press release surface touting the star’s return. However, she quickly debunked the claims, while confirming the legitimacy of the tracks named. She also confirmed the statement’s claim that the LP is titled ‘L.I.A.R’ – an acronym for ‘love is a religion.’

Confused? So were we.

Still, we’re eager to hear what Miss Keri Baby has been cooking up. And it seems like the wait won’t be much longer.

Though far from the most active act on social media, the Atlanta native has taken a liking to SnapChat where she has been sharing snippets of new music.

“Don’t go too fast, don’t go too slow, you got to let your body flow”

As baby-making bangers go, few can rival the timeless sensuality served up on TLC’s 1995 smash ‘Red Light Special.’ For that reason and many more, the bedroom masterpiece is this week’ selection for From This Vault.

Written and produced by the the legendary Babyface, ‘Special’ was serviced as the second single from the group blockbuster record-breaking sophomore set ‘CrazySexyCool.’

After flipping the gender script with ‘Creep’, the girls made way for some sexy time with the release of this track (which itself preceded the educational tone of follow-up ‘Waterfalls’.)

Missing out on the #1 spot due to Montell Jordan’s monumental ‘This Is How We Do It’, ‘Special’ peaked at #2 on the Hot 100 and #3 on the R&B tally. The cut was also a Top 20 hit in the UK.

Re-affirming their commitment to breaking the norm, the trio skewed edgy with the track’s accompanying video. In TLC’s world, prostitutes are males and Left-Eye is the pimp. A point that is often overlooked, yet one that was a powerful way of furthering their female-empowerment mantra. Matthew Rolston directed the visual, which was set in a brothel and featured then-model Boris Kodjoe.

Fittingly, there are no better words to describe TLC than “crazy, sexy, and cool”. Whether they were tackling social issues or goofing around, those three components were ever present. And now, years on, their message is ever-during.

These days, there are many a crazy, sexy and cool act. Yet, sadly so few have anything interesting to say. Different times, right?

In any case: TLC, we salute you!

After much ado, VH1 drew the curtain back on the panel of their revamped version of ‘America’s Next Top Model.’

Led by Rita Ora (who replaces Tyra Banks as host), the judges joining the singing entrepreneur are supermodel and body activist Ashley Graham, Paper Magazine C.O.O Drew Elliott and celebrity stylist/ image architect Law Roach.

Now, a day after the announcement, a series of snaps of the cast at work have been released.

The ‘SuperLove’ singer is back on the press trail in support of the single and its parent album ‘Joyride.’

We imagine the 23-year-old will be lodged in the headlines for the foreseeable following the “are they/aren’t they” rumors of a relationship with hitmaker Calvin Harris.

Still, as a solid in her own right, we’re all for the volumized buzz she’s receiving.

Will it benefit her music commercially? Time will tell.
