On the heels of the newly instated global album release date, the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 saw some major shakeups this week.
In addition to last week’s ousting of Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, and Madonna from the singles’ chart, Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars’ megahit ‘Uptown Funk’ was kicked out of the top 10 just 2 weeks before it would’ve set the record for the longest run of any song in the tally’s top dectet.
Similarly, this week sees Wiz Khalifa‘s comeback hit ‘See You Again’ finally abdicated from the top spot after a lengthy 12 week run. In fact, had the rapper stayed put just one more week, he would’ve set the record for the longest run at #1 by any rap song.
But, as fans of Mars and Khalifa cry foul, fans of ‘Love More’ duo Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj are singing a different tune. For, with the rise of their song ‘All Eyes On You’ with Meek Mill to the top 30, the trio see their names printed on the Hot 100 more than any other artist this week (Mill & Brown with 5 titles and Minaj with 4).
