Beyonce fans across the world rejoiced as confirmed news of the diva’s addition to this Sunday’s Grammy Awards’ performer lineup filled headlines earlier this week. Joining a star-studded bill that includes Nicki Minaj, Mary J. Blige, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and more, it seemed only fitting that the R&B/pop diva tag along for what some are arguing is the best performance roster the show has seen in years.
Delight over the news began to dull, however, as reports surfaced indicating the songstress would not take the stage to lend a live rendition of hits found aboard her latest chart-topping ‘Beyonce’ album, but would instead be part of the ‘Selma’ soundtrack tribute to offer a rousing rendition of the historic spiritual ‘Precious Lord, Take My Hand,’ as popularized by Mahalia Jackson.
From there it all started to go downhill – especially for fans of Grammy-nominated diva Ledisi who not only portrayed the gospel queen in the film, but was not even invited to participate in the tribute after she recorded the version of the song found on the soundtrack…
