It’s official. Beyonce will be blazing the stage at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.

Set to air live from The Forum in Los Angeles on August 24th, the event will also see Queen Bey receive the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Frank Ocean is embracing a blue hue.

The soulful chanteur unveiled a new look, which sees him sport electric blue hair.

Renown for his “simple” image, the change has some speculating as to whether he’s teasing the follow-up to his 2012 debut ‘Channel Orange’. ‘Channel Blue’, perhaps? Who knows.

What is certain, though, is that Ocean is working on the set. Hopefully it swims into stores sooner rather than later.

As a musical wordsmith, Drake is no stranger to clever metaphors. Yet, the rapper is taking a literal approach to defending himself against claims that he depicted ex Rihanna as a devil.

The Canadian MC sent the net into a frenzy during his OVO Fest in Toronto. For, while performing the song ‘Days In The East’, the screen behind him juxtaposed images of the Bajan beauty and a multitude of 6’s – prompting many to speculate whether he was branding Rih in a satanic context (see: historical use of three 6’s).

For Chris Brown, ‘X’ finally marks the spot.

Following a series delays, the singer’s sixth studio album arrives on September 16th.

Preceded by singles such as ‘Fine China’, ‘Loyal’, and ‘Don’t Think They Know (ft. Aaliyah)’ – all of which span a release period of more than a year, today saw the set’s official cover unveiled.

Previously a promotional shot, C. Breezy confirmed the snap above to be the definitive artwork for the LP.

The visuals are a win, as have been the singles (thus far). Therefore,  we hope the album as a body of work is too.

Elijah Blake is in a giving mood.

As to thank his fans for their support of his debut EP ‘Bijoux 22‘ and the hype they continue to build for its follow-up album, the up and comer surprises them with the release of ‘Free’ today.

Fortunately for said fans, the release will serve as the gift that keeps on giving, with the singer releasing it as a part of a ‘Free‘ music series set to span for a number of weeks, and used to build momentum for his very first LP.

That’s right, under the control of her latest puppet master Big Fendi, the rapper has blasted her rival Nicki Minaj with a brand new diss track named ‘Identity Theft’, taking aim at Minaj’s alleged borrowing of her style.

Many would agree that Ariana Grande is easily one of the most exciting talents to emerge in recent years.
