For one reason or another, R&B success stories have become few and far between in recent years, marred by the difficulty most of its acts convince their fans to follow their cause from many a comment section…and to iTunes.

Fortunately for Keyshia Cole, the run at the top she enjoyed with Ron Fair saw cultivate a fan base who’ve developed a culture of buying her music.

A culture, which saw first week sales of her latest album ‘Woman to Woman’ of 96,000 units- a figure out of reach for many an R&B staple. Now, with that album no more than 200,000 units from being certified Gold, it seems she has kicked off work on its follow up, enlisting an old friend to craft its material!

Like most of their prior campaigns, the push for The Saturdays‘ latest album has been quite the rollercoaster.

Indeed, while lead single ‘What About Us’ became their first #1, its follow-up ‘Gentleman’ could only manage a #11 peak. What’s more, their much publicized aim to “break America” resulted in an axed reality show. In parallel to all this, two of the groups members fell pregnant.

Still, Vanessa, Rochelle, Una and co are pressing on, today unwrapping the LP’s third single ‘Disco Love’.

Written and produced Icelandic hitmakers StopWaitGo, the cut is the ladies 16th release.

Cop a gander of Alexandra Burke.

The Pop powerhouse was snapped posing it up with Hip-Hop star Kendrick Lamar at night’s V Festival. A red hot topic at the moment (see: ‘Control’), the ‘Poetic Justice’ MC was one of the man major names taking to the stage at the British extravaganza.

Presently in the UK working on something “extra special”, 24-year-old Burke is reportedly set to lift the lid on the project…imminently. Exciting time!

Barely a day after unveiling her new ‘do live for the first time via a scorching set at the ‘V Festival’, ‘Standing On the Sun’ singer Beyonce continues to earn applause for her newly snipped locks via Instagram.

Well, meow!

Katycats have helped their leader claw to the top yet again, if reports are anything to go by.  For, everyday that has passed since ‘Part of Me’ performer Katy Perry unveiled her new single ‘Roar’ (ahead of schedule), industry insiders have updated its projected first week sales.  Each update, however, has been higher than the previous.

Originally, the first week forecast for the empowerment anthem was at 400,000, but updated to 450,000 days later.  Now, if the most updated projections are to be believed, Perry will pounce onto charts this week with a whopping 500k+ in digital sales…

Well, that was then.  For, just days after Lady Gaga sent her Little Monsters into a rage when she recounted a horrific “texting incident” with famed blogger/media personality Perez Hilton, the ‘Bad Romance’ beauty informed followers of more bad blood between the divas over the weekend.

Indeed, just this morning Gaga shared news that Hilton was moving into her apartment building just to stalk her.

While free ‘streams’ meant all of nothing this time last year, the inclusion of these streams when awarding US chart positions has seen the stock of many newcomers soar substantially.

One of these newcomers, being Hip Hop freshman Elijah Blake- housed by Roc Nation and enlisted to pen and produce material for Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Kylie Minogue, Usher, Ciara and Rihanna.

King B she may be, but oh did Beyonce serve at the V Festival tonight!

The global force rocked the UK extravaganza with a headlining set that consisted of her classic catalogue of hits as well as newer fan-favourites such as ‘Grown Woman’.

In an era where image is everything, the singer’s new shorter hair ‘do was a major talking point – with fans and critics hailing her latest look as “fresh” and “exciting”. Better yet, if what we’re hearing (from multiple sources) proves true, so too is her new music! Bring it on!
